Default Re: Would anyone mind helping me????

Hi Kenny,

You say you are 175 at 5'10?? I am going to presume somethings here so if i am wrong just tell me.

First of all, based on your name, I am presuming you are a male. I am also 5'10 but female and i can tell you while 175 may seem like a lot, most people i know who are 5'10 tend to have a hard time getting below 165 and maintaining this and you say you want to lose 30 lbs which would put you at 145, which i believe is at the very low end of what they recommend for weight at 5'10 as a small frame. I am not trying to discourage you from the 30 lbs. but you may really want to evaluate whether its the numbers you will be able to maintain and not spend your life attempting to maintain a very low end of the scale weight for your height and body. Even if your 30 lbs remains as to what you wish to lose, Induction (14 days) from what i remember people usually lost 10-15% of what they are trying to lose. So in all actuality 1 lbs in day 3 is pretty good based upon the understanding of induction loss predictions you may lose 3-5 lbs over the 14 days of induction.

All in all, i am not sure why you are trying to get down on the scale to 145 lbs at 5'10 male, but you may benefit more in looking into losing some weight since that is what you want to do but to start concentrating on weight lifting and gaining muscle versus worrying about what the number on the scale is as well as replacing fat in your body with muscle -- i.e. body fat %. Your muscle mass will weigh more, but your inches and shape and body fat % will give you the "look" of being 145 without having to struggle with trying to maintain numbers on a scale.

Hope this makes sense. i was 5'10 and 165 when i was in my 20's and my body would never allow me to go below 165 and fluctuated between 165 and 170-175. However, i wore a size 8 and sometimes a 6 because my body fat percent was 21 and i was a a very toned muscle even though the numbers on the scale weren't reflecting that.

Just some information that may help.

As for the processed foods i.e., low carb processed foods, i would begin this way of eating as you mean to go on and that would mean now is the time to make it unprocessed foods and get in the habit of reaching for unprocessed versus easy processed convenience, which in time may not teach you what induction in the book is trying to prepare you for - back to the basics concept.
