Default Re: Newbie Type 2 diabetic waiting to start

Yeah, Metformin is tricky. I don't talk about it on the main forums cuz the people with regular panceases (?) wouldn't understand.

But metformin really alters the way carbs are used and absorbed. It makes getiing into ketosis easier (not as many carbs around for use) but there must be something else happening because I am not losing as fast as the last 2 times on Atikins.

I have noticed on days where I eat 2200-2400 calories I lose more weight. If I string those days together I get a higher weekly weight loss.

Today, I haven't felt like eating. I don't feel particularly great, and I just don't want to eat. I can tell by my energy level that I haven't eaten enough. I might end up with 1600 calories today. So, maybe I should slam a few eggs and see what happens.

I have learned this thru trial and error. You might want to play with it to get a good measure for your own body. Diabetic bodies work just a little bit differently. It's like trying to tune a ferrari engine as opposed to a Ford. It doesn't need to be as precise on the Ford. We Ferraris are more tempermental.
