Introduction | | I've been reading these posts for a few weeks now and finally decided to join. I have been overweight my entire adult life. I reached my all time high recently at 275 lbs. I was just also diagnosed about 6 weeks ago with severe sleep apnea. My poor husband wasn't getting hardly any sleep, so I started to sleep on the sleeper sofa in the family room. My doctor told me if I lost weight that would help with the sleep apnea. I decided to try to lose weight. I joined a group of 9 girls who are also are trying to lose weight. Each week we pay in $5 and whoever loses the most percentage of weight for that week gets all the money. I thought this would be an incentive. I decided to try the Atkins diet. The first week I lost 8.5 lbs. I couldn't believe it. Now, after 4 weeks my total weight loss is 17.8 lbs. I feel great. My clothes are fitting better, and people are starting to notice. The best thing is that my snoring has allmost completely stopped and I am now back sleeping in my own bed with my husband. I am looking forward to losing more weight and hope to get to my goal of 200 lbs. by the end of this year. |
