Re: Saturated Fat and Diabetes | | You would just count carbs as usual but if you are using insulin you may need to take more to handle the fat and/or protein. And yes, smaller more frequent meals may be what works for you. Some diabetics need to eat every 4 hours to keep their glucose levels in a desirable range. My son is on an insulin pump so he gets a small steady stream of insulin, and therefore, does not need the more frequent eating schedule. Best way to find out is through trial and error and by testing your BS often!
