I've lost over 70 lbs. since last July! | | Hi Everyone,
I haven't posted in a long time, but today I got an e-mail from Tom and decided I should touch base! My computer has an annoying virus, so I haven't been on-line much these days.
However, I wanted to share the GOOD NEWS that, as a result of following Atkins(it has been amazingly very, very easy to do!) and regular exercise(I walk an hour a day plus do stretches/floor exercises at night when I watch TV), I have lost over 70 lbs.!
I was bursting out of a size 18/20 when I started. I now wear a size 10, and can even squeeze into some size 8 jeans! It is truely remarkable!
I didn't weigh myself at all for the first 50 lbs., either, because I knew I'd get obsessive about each and every little ounce. Then, after the holidays, I broke down and bought a scale, but still only weigh myself once a week, at the most. I can tell I'm losing because of the way my clothes fit.
I am completely off sugar. Discontinuing adding any artificial sweeteners to my coffee has really made a huge difference. What I do "cheat" on is eating a whole avocado(I think you are only supposed to have 1/2) and I do drink caffeine and sometimes diet sodas and no-sugar/carbs. Rock Stars. Also, I find it hard to control my intake of nuts, once I start in on them! But what a HUGE difference from what I used to consume!
Thanks so much to this forum and to the encouragement, support and advice I got when I first started. I weighed close to 250 lbs. Now I'm under 180, and my goal is actually 125, so I can say, "I've lost 1/2 of myself!). But I realize this will take a while...perhaps by the end of the summer, 2009?
I will try to get some photos in here soon. Hang in there everyone, and keep it up! This program is AWESOME!!!
