ENTER DR PHIL MODE/START: If you are doing anything positive and wanting to "put it in the face" of an ex anything, you are empowering that person to affect you and cause you pain. EXIT DR PHIL MODE/EXIT
It is wonderful that you want show off the new you to your family. My weight loss is a positive, happy event in my life. I love the daily recognition I get. I will be seeing my mother in about 2 months and I haven't seen her since January. I have always been the child she worries about because of my weight, smoking, drinking, overall irresponsibility, etc.. It's hard when your mom's a nurse and your wife is a nursing student. They both think I'm about to drop dead any day. Truth is I've never felt better. My wife hates this WOE but hasn't read the book. She still thinks it's unhealthy and all smoke and mirrors and water weight.
I have my 20 year reunion this summer. While most of the people there will have no idea I was ever fat, it will be nice to be fitter than most. I graduated in 89 and wrestled 126. I joined the navy after highschool and haven't been back except for a week here and there every couple of years.
I retire in May of 2010, and I want to be in the best shape of my life by then. I'm well on my way. It is tradition to put your bootcamp picture in your shadow box with a retirement picture to document what 20 years in the service does to you. I want to look better in the second picture.
