I think for the most part everyone here will insist that you just follow the book. The way most people go completely off track is to have one little cheat, nevermind a whole day of cheating. I know we like to think that there might be all these tips and tricks that might be more effective, but you're already losing quickly. I doubt there is much if anything that you can do to make your body lose faster without having adverse effects.

If you hit a stall where you aren't losing for over a week, then you might want to change things up a little (within the plan like moving on to OWL) but otherwise I wouldn't change anything at all. Your weight loss will naturally slow. It is very unlikely that you will continue at the same rate you lost during your first 2 weeks of induction, so be ready for slower weight loss in the next few weeks. It doesn't mean the plan isn't working.

Really think about it though. Have you heard anyone giving a personal account of how the "reward day" thing works? I'm sure many people have tried it. They just don't end up back here because they go off plan. However, there are lots of people here who have been successful following the book. Which seems like the best solution?

Also, I disagree with using food as a reward in general. I think that is how a lot of us start to gain weight in the first place. Food is a fuel and needs to be used as such. That doesn't mean we can't enjoy it, but when we start attaching emotional meaning to food and seeing it as a reward, I think we are more inclined to use food for comfort and overindulge during stressful times. This is true especially for really carb-heavy foods which really are addicting.
