Default Re: 5 day menu for newbie

I just fooled around in fitday with my menu a bit...Everlosing mentioned that the calorie count might be a bit low. I was thinking that if I was still hungry I would add more meat (just increase the ham or chicken in the existing meals depending how I feel at the time) because I've already maxed out my veggies & cheese for the day...but that starts to throw off the protein/carb/fat numbers pretty quick...For example, I started with 1393 calories and a 64/31/5 mix. I thought that was "close enough" to 65/30/5. I increased the portions of meat at each meal in fitday a bit just to see what would happen, and got it to 1670 calories 63/33/4. At what point do you say -hmmm-that's not the right balance - and does anyone have any suggestions as to what to eat to help keep the 65/30/5 balance?

Also, I know Dr. Atkins suggested in the book that you can eat more calories on this plan & still lose compared to the "reduced calorie" plans that we are all oh-so-familiar
with...what is your experience?

Thanks for all of your help & support!

Julie
