Re: Hello! | | Diana -- we'll have to stick together. My mother lives with us (has for a little over a year) -- she is diabetic but because of her age the endocrinologist isn't real strict with her. As I'm sitting here she just took her blood sugar reading and since she's at 84 she's going to have a molassas cookie...
I've just got to the point where what she eats doesn't bother me - I cook meals for her & the hubs and I modify things I can eat. We are all having chicken tonight but I'm having parmesean chicken and they are having fried chicken. They are having mashed potatoes and gravy -- I'm having cauliflower mashed with butter and a little cream (looks and tastes like mashed potatoes) we'll have broccoli as our veggie and a salad.
As long as I don't make a big deal about it she doesn't say much - in the beginning I would ask her not to eat sweets around me (I'm diabetic also) but she continued to - so I figured what the heck - she's making me stronger by doing this...I don't let her bother me!
Good luck! |
