Dr. Atkins himself once advised his patients with a high metabolic resistance to go on meat and eggs only. No salad, no veggies, no other carbs but the carbs in eggs. This recommendation came as a result from testing he did to construct a sure-fire weight loss method even for people with a metabolic resistance who would struggle to lose weight even on a very restrictive Atkins diet.
Not knowing my body too well, but suspecting I was metabolically resistant, I decided to take his advice and use it during my inductions (which have always been very successful). He even went so far as to suggest that kind of diet for life, if need be, so I wasn't concerned about the health aspects. I just wanted to mention this backstory to explain why I'd started with meat and eggs only. I'm adding in veggies as we speak, so not to worry; I'll tackle the rest of my phases using the latest revision. |
