Agreed. The naturally occurring trans fats are what they are and are minimal in natural foods like beef and dairy. You put your finger better than I did on the key distinction: artificially added transfats vs. the natural ones. I wondered if McD's squirts the griddle with a hydrogenated oil to fry them, thus the transfat, or perhaps the transfats listed in the nutrition info are the natural kind?

To test this question, I checked BK's website to see if there's a difference in transfat numbers since they broil their 100% beef burgers. The hamburger itself has about .5g trans fat and the whopper burger has about 1. So, you're right that the burgers have the naturally occurring transfats, and not the added stuff.
