welcome Kay -- I'm glad you found us. This is a wonderful family of very supportive people. We follow the 2002 DANDR book here - if you don't have a copy it is a good idea to get one so you know the science and the "hows" of the way the plan works. You'll find the information you need to get started on the Introduction area - read the stickies.
Make sure you are only eating foods on the acceptable foods list, drink at least 64 ounces of pure water a day and do some form of exercise everyday. When I first started I could barely get to the end of the block and back home....4 months later I ride a stationary bike, walk a couple miles at a time and have a couple favorite exercise DVD's that I do. It's amazing what this plan can do for you and how it can make you feel.
The first 14 days are a time to break food and sugar addictions -- follow the plan 100% and you will see wonderful results. Stay off the scale until the end of induction - there is no reason to drive yourself batty by jumping on the scale several times a day or even daily.
Here are links to recipe sites - there are wonderful meal suggestions here (just make sure they are induction friendly to begin with). After a few weeks your tastebuds will change and foods you don't eat or like now you may find are your new favorite foods!
There are challenges for being cheat free, exercise, drinking water, etc you can join. The more you use the site and by staying on plan 100% you'll do fine! I wish you much luck -- if you need anything all you need to do is ask!
