Re: When do you start to exercise on induction...if at all | | You do something from the very first day. There is no reason or excuse to wait. If you are very overweight and have not been exercising, then something that does not damage your legs and knees until you get some of the weight off. You can exercise in a chair. That's how I started. You can exercise lying on your bed. Every time you life a leg, it works your abs and core. You can lift light weights sitting in a chair. All of this might not seem like much, but will jump start muscle strengthening and fat burning. Recumbent steppers and bikes take the strain off the legs and knees, but give you a real workout. It will increase your energy, too. You will feel more energetic after your first workout. Any time you are out of shape, you should start slowly and build up to more strenuous exercise. You will burn as many calories with the light exercise as a fit person will burn with strenuous exercise in the same amount of time. Getting an out-of-shape body exercised takes work and a lot of energy, which it will get from fat stores. After you are in better shape, then you start higher intensity cardio and weight bearing exercise. |
