Default Re: Heavy Ketosis, but Gaining Weight??????

A couple of things...
1. you cannot compare this time on Atkins to last time. Your body is older, more used to the higher weight, hormone levels may be different--there are a lot of things that can change the weight loss pattern this time.

2. Lots of folks have some start and stop periods just after induction. These mini stalls can take a couple of weeks to break and are called Post Induction Stall Syndrome. There are threads on just this topic on the board.

3. You should be eating less than 20 but close to 20 net carbs, with more than half of them coming from the 3 cups of veggies you are supposed to be eating every day.
You should also be drinking half your body weight in ounces in pure unflavored water. Only 3 portions of sweeteners a day. No Atkins bars or other frankenfoods. Your fat should be at least 65%, protein around 30% and carbs 5-7%. Cheese is limited to 3-4 ounces daily. These are the induction guidelines in a very compressed form. No caffeine. Are you following these guidelines?
