Re: Ready to give up! (vent warning) | | The first time I tried Atkins 5 years ago the scale did not move not one single pound for 13 days, then on day 14 when I weighed suddenly I showed a 10 pound weight loss! The Wooshie Fairy had paid me a very nice visit!!!!
This time around, I too have been discouraged but it is simply because I sometimes cannot be very patient. I restarted on May 4 and as of today I have lost a total of 5.4 pounds, which is really not bad when you look at it. But my problem is that I have been a slave to the scale and it moving up and down, up and down really ticks me off, LOL!!! In reading one of the threads yesterday I came across one that said that you can expect to lose 5-10% of the amount of the weight that you need to lose on induction...So for me, I realistically need to lose 50 pounds...well 5% is 2.5 pounds and the 10% is 5 pounds.....so I really cannot complain!
What we have to remember is that we did not put all this weight on overnight, in one week, 2 weeks or even a month therefore we should not expect to lose it overnight, etc...
