However, I've done some extensive research on the impact of weight loss through swimming, and across the board the consensus seems that swimming is far less effective than other activities for weight loss. Seems bizarre right? But there have been many studies conducted comparing overweight people Walking, Cycling & Swimming using the same level of exertion, and the swimmers lost little (even gained!), compared to a substantial loss from the cyclists and walkers. Something to consider... I love to swim, but don't count it as part of my workout routine. Good luck!
