you should try out almond flour (ground up almonds) - remember not to use too much of it (keep counts in mind) but it's extremely versatile. I use it for "breading" "fried" foods (tons of recipes out there) - but my favorite weekend breakfast treat is almond flour pancakes:
5 tbsp almond flour
1 tbsp sour cream
1 tbsp water
1 egg
1/2 tsp baking powder
1 tsp cooking oil
1 pkt splenda
optional: 1 splash SF vanilla syrup
Mix all ingredients - cook on stovetop like you would any regular pancake. This comes out to about 7 carbs 3 fiber = 4 g net carbs.
now that i'm past the berries rung, i've also mixed in a few blueberries (again gotta be careful with the carb count here).
I'm not sure, since I'm in the states (indiana) and you're in the UK - so i don't know where in the UK you could get some - other than online (i hear netrition is great) but I also put 2 tbsp of sugar free maple syrup on mine (i get a kind from walmart that is 7 g carbs for 1/4 cup) but i'm sure you could find some if you googled.
Warning though - it
IS easy to start adding carbs to this (more berries, too much syrup, etc...) but as long as you're measuring when you make the recipe - you should be good to go! Also, again, this is ONLY a once a week treat for me - usually sunday mornings.
