Sam, welcome to ADBB. The key is to really be seriously committed, not because the doctor tells you to, not because others tell you to do it, but because you are ready to have a new life. If you can commit, you will be amazed and the changes this Way of Eating will bring to you. The first week is the hardest. Be strong with yourself to get through the first week cheat free. The second week is easier. Also I cannot stress enough how important it is to read the book because many people think they know all about what to eat on Atkins and they are very often way off base. We use the 2002 Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution on this site.

Stay away from Atkins food products and go for meats, green veggies, and fats--olive oil, butter, avocado, mayonnaise.

Make friends with pure water--minimum 64 ounces a day

Start moving. Do something each day that you haven't been. Get outside, Walk around the block. Take a bike ride. Anything.

If you can get through Induction, I am sure you will see such a difference in how you feel that you will be motivated to continue.
