If you just tell them you are doing this for awhile, this is the way you are eating, please respect it--and mean it-- then that"s probably all you have to do. Say it with confidence and authority and then be sure not to cave the first time someone cracks open that beer. Not telling them is a sure way to fail! They cannot support you if they don't know how.

If you think they are going to butt heads with you because it is the dreaded ATKINS DIET, then tell them you are choosing low sugar. low glycemic foods because the high sugar/starch foods make you feel tired and sluggish and leave it at that.
