Re: getting over low sugar question | | I usually take a tablespoon of cottage cheese or a string cheese, I've also eaten colored peppers -- that works for me plus it's rung 2 food. The peanut butter doesn't work as well for me but maybe a half ounce of almonds would work - they are a rung 3 food. Maybe going up to another rung would help you - more "legal" foods to choose from.
Old habits are hard to break - especially when you need to get your sugar up. My uncle was told orange juice and Nila wafers....when I was first diagnosed I tried that and threw them back up - it brought my sugar up too quickly and make me sick to my stomach.....that's when I had to find what worked for me. |
