Re: Will this push me off of ketosis? | | Wrong, your body will compensate by storing the carbs as glycogen because your glycogen stores are depleted. You will gain 5-10 lb because of the sugar storage and accompanying water weight gain. You'll still be burning fat. Also, American-Chinese food is loaded with sodium, so you will get a bit bloated. But, believe me, it will all be water weight. For every gram of glycogen stored you'll pull about 3 grams of water with it. To change to carb burning, you would have to eat quite a bit of carbohydrate loaded meals 12 to 48 hours non stop.
You'll shed the water in three days. Don't feel guilt, and return to your previous dietary regimen. You'll be okay and you'll probably feel emotionally and physiologically like c**p. It's normal. You have not, by any means sabotaged your goals in any way.
