Default Re: Ok, I'm starting to think that EVERYTHING has carbs. Please help inform me.

If you buy fresh chicken from the meat department, and there are no "ingredients" listed - that's 'cause its just chicken - count no carbs.

I count .6 for a large egg, you can count 1 if you like.

The main thing is this: sugar and grains have carbs in them - most processed foods have one, the other or both - so yes, most "foods" have carbs in them. The only true carb-free food is fresh meat (or some frozen - check the labels!).

The goal is to get 1/2 your daily carbs from veggies, and the others from grain/sugar-free foods such as whipping cream, eggs and cheese. Splenda counts as a carb too. Don't forget to only eat foods on the acceptable list for induction - including all of the ingredients in processed foods.
