Default Re: Induction Question

Welcome to the Board!

These are the ingredients in Fiber Choice:
Quote:
Inulin (a natural vegetable fiber), Sorbitol, Cornstarch, Cellulose, Dextrose (Adds a trivial amount of sugar), Citric Acid, Magnesium Stearate, Natural & Artificial Flavors & Colors
Technically cornstarch would only make Fiber Choice okay for OWL Rung 9. And since it contains a tiny amount of dextrose (sugar), you'd need count it towards your daily sweeteners (limited to 3 servings/packets per day).

Instead of Fiber Choice, I would rather take something like flaxseed meal or psyllium husks (sugar free, of course) or wheat bran, which are the ones recommended in DANDR. These you could also "hide" as ingredients in foods, instead of having to swallow/chew a pill.

I believe that the best way to overcome temptation is not with willpower, which is so often in short supply, but with our brain power, a potentially unlimited resource.

Imagine that you're doing great, losing weight, feeling better than ever, thrilled with yourself, hearing compliments from friends and acquaintances---and then it happens! Despite all your good intentions, you're mightily tempted by a food you're not supposed to have. What to do? I'll tell you this: You'd better have a strategy ready!"
