While the science of Atkins is about eating healthy carbs, protein and fats and changing your metabolism to rely on the burning of fats instead of an abundance of carbs, there are lots of other reasons and benefits to stick to this way of eating.
So many people have stories of struggle here on this board. They have lived the non-Atkins life and been unhappy. But if you read into the success stories, people's lives have been changed by improvements in health, more active lifestyles, happier social lives, travel, confidence. Personally, putting my feet on the floor every morning is something I do not take for granted. My life is greatly improved and if I don't lose another pound, Atkins has made a huge difference in my life.
