Anyhow, my question is that in his induction diet menu plans he uses berries in several of his recipes. Whats up with that? My aunt said that when she did Atkins in the 70's she used to eat all the strawberries she wanted...and lost weight! Well, i told her its not like that anymore and she tried to do atkins again without re-reading the book and ate strawberries like before and she bombed and didn't lose the weight...she assumed it was because she cannot lose the weight anymore and gave up...I tried to tell her but she wouldn't listen. Anyhow, so the old way allowed berries but the way does not? Am i correct in this? |
Berries aren't a part of the Induction menu either now or in 1972.
the thing about recipes is that you have to be careful about them---no matter who writes them. Sometimes they are called Induction "friendly" eventhough they contain ingredients that aren't.
That said, there are some "fruits" on the Induction Acceptable Foods list, such as tomatoes (they are botanically fruits, but according to US law they are vegetables), rhubarb (they are botanically vegetables, but according to US law they are fruits), and the fruits such as cucumbers, peppers, summer squash, and eggplant.
