I am one of those who takes a 'scientific' interest in a daily hop on the scales rather than an 'emotional' one, so I do check my weight every day at the same time/same clothes.
however I treat the daily downs, ups and standstills as just statistics - not as something that will upset my day if the movement is not downward
By doing it this way I do not get upset by the monthly fluctuations caused by being a woman, or the daily fluctuations caused by no identifiable reason at all.
If I was one of the many people who find a justification of choosing Atkins as a way to lose weight only by seeing a drop in weight every day; who start to panic and wonder what they are doing wrong if they see a jump of several pounds when they know they have been following the rules; or even decide to eat off-plan because they are not seeing a loss every day then I definitely would NOT weigh daily, but leave it till after the 14th day for induction then maybe one a week or fortnight thereafter.
Only you know what category you are in, so it is your decision.
As for whether to take measurements, I would say 'Definitely, Yes!!'
Many people find they lose inches when they are gaining pounds or staying still - we have had members on the 6 week exercise challenges who lost very few pounds but lost several dress sizes.
Losing inches is a better gauge of losing FAT than losing pounds
If you find fiddling about with a tape measure is not for you then find a very tight set of clothes and keep trying them on to see how your body shape is changing.
