I have questions about this rung too. According to DANDR, legumes (OWL Rung 6) are a Pre-Maintenance food and he introduces the Power of Ten (instead of Five). Not sure if we're even supposed to have beans until Pre-Maintenance but from posts here I'm thinking we can if we keep it to 5g net carbs.
Continuing on with that logic

according to DANDR, 2 TBS of kidney beans would be 5g net carbs; according to FitDay, it is 2 TBS + 1 tsp of kidney beans. How much is 1 tsp of kidney beans??? Probably like 2 beans!
About your question if you can have more beans because you don't have onions/peppers in the chili, I think the answer is no because we are not supposed to have whatever amount of an OWL food; we are supposed to keep them in those controlled amounts.
I found the sticky measurements to be confusing. I mean, I don't have a 1/5 c. measure so it was hard for me to figure out how much that is. Needless to say, I haven't been having many legumes since I started OWL 6 because there just isn't very many in the amounts allowed. That little amount sure was tasty though!
p.s. Are there tomatoes in your chili? Those make the carbs in a recipe jump up really fast even without peppers/onions.
