Default Re: induction and calories

Elke - first congratulations on deciding to do induction first!

Dont get confused by worrying about calories at this stage. Induction will help you get rid of those sweets cravings and get you started on the fatburning if you concentrate on doing it 'by the book' and counting carbs! Dr Atkins never said that calories 'dont count' but he did say 'dont count calories'.

One of the benefits of keeping carbs down but eating fats till we are no longer hungry is that we tend to keep our calories fairly low without trying! And as we are fuelled by fats not by carbs we have what Dr Atkins called the #metabolic advantage' in that we can lose weight on a higher calorie input than when on a lowfat diet.

Your suggested menus look good, but do make sure you have some legal highfat snacks available too so you will have something to eat if the munchies strike! I like how you are spreading your carbs across the day too!
