Default Proof Positive

I started March 6th. I weighed 186 pounds. I measured and recorded all the inches. They're in my journal.

I remeasured April 5th. I had lost 16 pounds and 9.5 inches. I lost the first 14 pounds in the first 14 days. Pretty good in my opinion.

I measured today. I lost another 9 inches. I also lost 5 more pounds.

I'm happy with my loss rate since I normally don't lose quickly and I want the fat to stay far far away. Losing 21 pounds in 7 weeks is dandy with me but my weight loss has slowed considerably, so it was awesome to see the progress in the inches. I lost 9.5 inches in one month and another 9 in less than 3 weeks. If I had only looked at weight, I lost 14 pounds in the first 2 weeks, 2 pounds in the second two weeks, and 5 pounds over the next 3 weeks. I see so many people getting discouraged by numbers that slow down just like mine.

So, for those of you who are getting frustrated with your numbers, don't gauge your progress by numbers. If the weight isn't changing, check the inches. If the inches aren't changing, gauge how you feel. Not even knowing I had lost inches (although I could feel it in my clothes), I've been feeling so much better than I had before and that's been keeping me going.
