Default feel really stupid asking this . . . `

No matter how heavy I have ever been, I have always had really good, healthy blood pressure. Now it's suddenly shot up quite high. So my stupid question is this: How high is HIGH? I mean, at what point am in danger of dropping dead tomorrow?

I just went through a series of tests after my annual "girlie" appointment and my bp was consistently high at two visits. High, as in 149/104. My gyn didn't seem overly concerned, but did recommend that I go visit my family doctor to have him check it out. Will I be safe if I wait until fall when the kids go back to school, or is that high enough that I should make an appointment yesterday?

Meantime, I'm exercising 4Xweek, reducing my sodium, eliminating caffeine & increasing my water intake. Is there anything else I can do at this point?
