| No, I was on Atkins years ago when it was just meat and cheese. Can't handle that today! I'm planning menus and searching recipes...its been kinda fun so far...or should I say challenging? My son has come on board with me so its fun to try out the recipes on him. So far....4 lbs! Thanks for asking! |

| Welcome! Congrats on a good start. Whatever you wear on your cruise, you're going to be feeling better about yourself if you stick to the plan. Nice that your son is on board as well. It's great motivation when you have someone to share the road with! Happy Atkineering!

| Hi there onefifty!! I was just looking in here and saw a post from a fellow Austinite AND a fellow 50-ite so I just wanted to say hello and wish you well on your journey. There is so much information here and a bunch of peeps which makes learning about this WOE much easier. Hopefully you have the DANDR book which is also a wealth of information.I love your attitude about 50 being the new 40--I DO feel 10 years younger since starting this WOE 8 months ago. I am a little over halfway to my goal but honestly, if I did not lose another pound, I would continue to eat this way because I just feel great. I love cruising as well--next one planned is not until December of 2009 Good luck with the recipes--my personal faves are deep dish pizza, just like a loaded baked potato cauliflower, muffin in a minute, spaghetti squash chicken alfredo, tuna muffins and bacon lettuce and tomato dip. Also eat a lot of boring stuff like salads, broccoli, chicken, eggs, etc. The beauty of this WOE is the longer you do it the less you miss the bad stuff.Good luck to you and keep us posted on your progress!!
