| Hi Zadie, Congratulations on the weight loss so far! Don't get discouraged. Maybe you're retaining some water from salty food or needing to perhaps add some bran to your food? Gigi |

| Zadie- You should celebrate the 9 lbs. RE: Being slow or stuck, I can relate as I am nearly 50. Are you seeing other results besides weight loss (measurements, feeling better, etc.)? I agree with what the others said and asked. Yes you should count for a while. Re-read the DANDR book. What is your exercise program? I found progress when I stepped up exercise. Glenn

| Thanks all for the support. I have actually lost two more pounds. Good. ANd I do feel plenty better. I've been exercising a lot because we just moved into a new house and there's tons of work. Plus I take my dog to the beach every day. But I've not been to the gym yet as I'm so busy. I'm just uncertain as to whether I should go up the rungs if I'm not losing. Obviously not. So, if you don't lose after induction, do you just stay at rung 1 or what? Um...in answer to pie4me...I have 45 lbs to lose. later... zadie |

| The good doctor said we should lose between 5 and 10% of what we want to lose during the first two weeks. For you, that would be right on target for 10%. A lot of folks experience a stall right after the induction phase...this too shall pass. Try another rung....you have nothing to lose! I always suggest folks to at least try to make it to rung 4...it just gives you soooo many more options. I'm still a tad away from 50, though i've got the perimenopausal symptons, so it's starting with me. |
