| Yep - once you've heard a tornado you're never the same...when you hear a train it's the first thing through your mind! We had the carpets cleaned this morning -- main floor, stairway going to the basement and family room in the basement. After they left I mowed the lawn, then took a much needed shower (humidity & heat aren't nice when you're mowing!) and walked 4 more miles afterward. I can't get to the bike today because it's behind everything in the unfinished part of the basement....maybe if I climbed up and walked over the side tables, the table and chairs I might be able to get close enough to touch it but I doubt I could get the pedals to move back there......oh well, tomorrow! Meals are different today...... Breakfast: 2 scrambled eggs w/bacon, onion & salsa -- it tasted pretty good today -- haven't had that in awhile. Lunch: 1/2 c cottage cheese, 1oz fillet steak. Snack: 4oz cauliflower w/ 1tbsp Ranch dressing Dinner: pork chop, spinach w/ vinegar & broccoli I may also have coconut oil w/cocoa & splenda after dinner if I'm hungry.

| 1 egg with 1oz yellow onion, 1/2 oz onion and 1 slice deli ham scrambled. 1oz cheddar cheese and 1Tbsp salsa on top. 30oz water & 1 cup decaf w/splenda for breakfast. lunch was 2 chicken tenders and 1/2 c broccoli, cauliflower, red pepper mixed veggies, 30oz water. dinner will be at Emperor's Palace -- I'll be having the Mongolian bar-b-que where you put the meat, spices & veggies you want in a bowl and they cook it for you. That way I can control what I eat and how much. They also have crab legs so I may have some of them also. (Mom can have her Frog's Legs - I tried them last time...they were ok but not something I want to eat again). It's an all-you-can-eat place with different "stations". Each "station" is a different type of Asian food plus they have 1 area with American food. We usually go there on Mother's or Father's day because they have such a wide variety of things and everyone is happy and full when we leave.

| I love the spicy food Norah -- I had chicken and jalapeno peppers yesterday -- it was a little past spicey and closer to take the top off your head - LOL!!! I ate what I thought was good yesterday but did gain 2 pounds....so I'm thinking something I ate had too much salt in it because my fingers were swollen and sore this morning. I added Jillian Michaels 30 day shread video to my exercise routine today. Kicked my butt!!! I didn't stop during the half hour but for a few seconds I did what was going on a little screen a little more modified than what was going on. After I finished the video I rode my normal 25 miles on the bike. As soon as we can get to Dick's Sporting Goods I've found the recumbent bike I want to buy. At least it has a better seat and hopefully will help my tailbone heal.

| I took a day off because yesterday from the exercise video and went on a short walk instead because the front of my thighs were so sore down to my knees. Tuesday I did ride my bike (normal ride) but yesterday my legs were just too sore to do any riding or God forbid, a video! Today the pain was finally gone so I rode the bike my normal 25 miles. I'm going to try and do the video later tonight, before I go to bed and hopefully since I won't be riding the bike right after I finish the video I won't be so sore tomorrow. I really want to do the video 3 times this week -- then I'll try for everyday next week or maybe every other - we'll see. I woke up with a sinus headache this morning so after I got the hubs off to work I went back to bed - woke up at 10:30 and felt a little better. Since I didn't get up in time for breakfast I had lunch at noon and took my pills just before that. I had a 1/2 avocado, 2oz of corned beef and cottage cheese for lunch with water. I had a 1/2c of 7 layer salad and a string cheese around 3:30 (no peas on the salad) so I figured that was sort of a meal. For dinner we had thin NY Strip Steak (5oz), fried radishes O'Brien (green peppers & onions cooked with the radishes) and 2 eggs. It was delicious! I also had 3 small strawberries and 1 oz cream cheese & 2 oz cream all mixed together after dinner. Delicious meals and just think - I'm dieting...ROFL! I love this WOE!

| ok - today I got through the 30 Day Shred video again. I feel better today - but I only did the video, didn't ride the bike. It took 3 days to get to the point where my legs didn't hurt when I walked so I am thrilled that I have no pain in them now. The pain started right after I got off the bike the other day - so I'm thinking I'm ok today. I tell you that video will get you sweating!!! We're going to a local festival tomorrow - they are having a taste of local foods and a vintage car show. It's a small town so we're going to help support them. They had a great St Patricks Day parade and we had ribeye steak afterward (it was suppose to be a sandwich but I had it without the bun). There are a few little food shops and a great grocery store there so I'm hoping they have the steaks again and I'll take my baggie of veggies to eat with it. Hope you have a wonderful weekend.

| Hi Carole. I hope you enjoyed the festival. I have a Richard Simmons video that I really like but since I rearranged the livingroom furniture, I don't have enough room to do the dance moves so I haven't been using it. What is the name of the shred video you have and does it require a lot of space to do it? I've been doing good on the diet and although I haven't gotten back down to where I was last year, I'm only 5 lbs. away. I've gotten rid of the peanut butter and cashews that give me so much trouble. I just can't stop eating them once I start but since dh left on a trip 10 days ago, I haven't had any at all. I'm hoping that I've weaned myself off of them to the point that I won't be tempted by them when he returns tomorrow and buys more. He was supposed to be gone for 3 weeks but has been sick and is on his way home now. I haven't been online as much as I would like to be lately but now that things are settling down around here, I hope to be back as usual. I really miss it when I can't get on. |

| I miss you too when you aren't online Nyna!!! The video is Jillian Michaels 30 Day Shred Amazon.com: Jillian Michaels - 30 Day Shred: Jillian Michaels, Andrea Ambandos: Movies & TV. You only need enough room to lay down to do a small portion of the video. Most of the time you are on your feet and only moving a small amount of space from left to right....it's a great video and has 3 different levels so it will take awhile to grow out of it. I got mine at Target for $8.99. We had another storm come through last night - 70-80 mph winds were reported but not much rain this time (yea). The worst of the storm went around us. This past week 3 people in the area died from the heat. The storm last night took the humidity out of the air and it's much more pleasant today. Yesterday at this time it was 98 degrees, today it's 87....doesn't sound like much but it's huge! I just keep remembering that this is what we dream of in December when it's cold or snowing!!! LOL We had a good time at the festival yesterday -- there were about 100 antique cars displayed and we voted for our favorite before we left. They had a live band, different food tents and of course (because of where we live) Budweiser! Mom and I had a hamburger from the firemen tent...I thought it was best to support the volunteer firemen because there were so many eating at the restaurant where the live band was. I had my trusty baggie with 1Tbsp of ranch dressing in a container and red/yellow pepper strips and cauliflower to dip into it to go along with my hamburger. We each had a bottle of water in our purses and additional water bottles in the car. Luckily we had a great parking spot close to where everything was going on so it was nice to be able to go back and get additional water. Hope everyone is having a great Sunday!! Almost the end of the month, hopefully I'll get my challenges finished! I've been slacking on the ab challenge, gotta go get them done!

| Wow Carole, you sure do get a lot of storms down there! I love a good electrical storm but we seldom get them anymore. We get rain but very little thunder and lightning. My dh got back from his trip yesterday with a mountain of laundry and camping gear so I've been busy with that. He takes this trip every June to check out hunting spots in NM and Co. He's still not over the cold he's had but he's getting better. His sugar and bp are out of control though. I think he needs to see his doctor but he won't go. Oh, well. I can't force him. I just started the thread for the July abs challenge and I hope to see you there again. Have a great day! |
