Spring is finally here!!!

Well -------- it's here in the deep south. lol I have opened the windows and the warm, fresh air is moving through the house hopefully 'airing everything out' after the colder winter months. The grass is turning green very fast and the Dogwood trees and Azalea bushes are budding out. I love springtime!!
I thought I had been lucky and missed the flu this year especially since I did not get my annual flu shot. I really 'meant' to get one but never found the right time. Well, I am just out of bed with both strains A & B. I drank plenty of juices but did not eat very much. Atkins WOE had to go for a while. I'm sure I didn't gain any weight so I'm ready to go back and get the apple juice and white grape juice out of my system. I still do not have any scales so I don't know what I weigh exactly, BUT, I can tell it in my clothes and even in the tightness of my watch band.
I hope everyone in this forum is doing well. I hope that spring comes to your part of the country VERY soon.
I am ending this thread with some really cute 'old timers' sayings that I thought you would enjoy.

I've sure gotten old!
I've had two bypass surgeries, a hip replacement,
new knees, fought prostate cancer and diabetes
I'm half blind,
can't hear anything quieter than a jet engine,
take 40 different medications that
make me dizzy, winded, and subject to blackouts.
Have bouts with dementia.
Have poor circulation;
hardly feel my hands and feet anymore.
Can't remember if I'm 85 or 92.
Have lost all my friends. But, thank God,
I still have my driver's license.

I feel like my body has gotten totally out of shape,
so I got my doctor's permission to
join a fitness club and start exercising.
I decided to take an aerobics class for seniors.
I bent, twisted, gyrated, jumped up and down,
and perspired for an hour. But,
by the time I got my leotards on,
the class was over.

An elderly woman decided to prepare her will and
told her preacher she had two final requests.
First, she wanted to be cremated, and second,
she wanted her ashes scattered over Wal-Mart.
'Wal-Mart?' the preacher exclaimed.
'Why Wal-Mart?'
'Then I'll be sure my daughters visit me twice a week'

My memory's not as sharp as it used to be.
Also, my memory's not as sharp as it used to be.

Isn't it wonderful -- I mowed for the 2nd time this season the other day. It's so nice to see the grass after it's been cut, it looks so crisp. The fertilizer I put down in the Fall and again early in the Spring has really pepped up our lawn - it's so lush and green!! I'll proably be complaining by mid summer when I have to mow every 4 or 5 days instead of 7 but that's ok!!!

We are supposed to have highs in the 40's and lows in the 20's Monday and Tuesday. YIKES.

My fig trees are budding and my plum trees are setting fruit. I'm afraid we'll lose everything again this year!

But today is sunny and hot! Hubby tried out the new lawn mower and it looks so much better outside now!

I'm hoping that they are wrong about the coming freeze. They've been wrong before!

we are suppose to be cold here starting tomorrow (Sunday) through Tuesday -- 2 nights below freezing! The weather is ridiculous! I hope they are wrong for your sake.

Would you believe it -- I've mowed twice already and we're having sleet now...suppose to turn into snow by midnight....this happened last weekend also only that was pure snow.....SPRING HURRY & GET HERE TO STAY!!!!! lol

Spring finally seems to be springing here. About time too!
My grass is growing growing growing. Time to invest in a couple of goats. They're arriving after Easter. I'm so excited. Will I live to regret this???

Spring WAS here, but this morning it left town. It poured down snow until the ground around my poor strawberry plants was white. The last time I remember it snowing on April 7th was April 7, 1990. It was my son's garden wedding day and we got a foot of snow over night. We had to move the garden inside.

Sunny, we got snow in northwest Georgia today, too... Supposed to be down to 27 tonight. We also woke to a light snow covering.

Tomorow is supposed to be up into the 60's with lows in the 40's, followed by days in the low 70's.

I REALLY hope that this is the last of the cold!

We're supposed to be down to 25 degrees tonight, with snow showers tonight and tomorrow.

I waited until just now to go for a very brisk walk. I was in heavy sweats, but it was so cold and windy, I could only stand it for 15 minutes. The snow sticking to my sweatshirt didn't even melt until I came in the house.

Sunny, that's just wrong in the South, isn't it???

Hope it warms up soon. I didn't post because I didn't think I had much to add to the subject, but the picture of your yellow and red peppers really impressed me.

Hope you're back to growing them again REALLY soon!
