| Doing fine thanks Nyna. Gotta big lunch today, sort of a duty thing as it's work related. Gotta get all dressed up, which I hate! When you say you have tourists coming, does that mean you rent places out? If so, we're in the same business! Hope your cough goes away very quickly.

| Good Morning everyone! "yawn" I've spent the last 3 hours attending to Oliver (my daughters 10 mth old dog) and Lincoln (my dog), making sure Oliver doesn't run off somewhere, keeping him busy chasing balls, which keeps Lincoln busy, chasing Oliver, round and round the back yard, my lord, through 2 cups of coffee! We are dog-sitting, and by golly, next time, I will take Oliver home to sleep! so I can get some sleep. I dozed on the couch, and finally put Oliver out in the sunroom with Lincoln, because they kept whining and in Oliver's case, barking/yelping cause they were separated. I'll be glad when Jenn and Curt get home, altho' if we decide to go out to an auction, I"ll take Oliver home sooner. Blah. Oliver is very high energy, Australian Shepherd/Standard Poodle, known as an Aussie-Doodle. Too smart for his own good, very short attention span, never-ending energy. Other than that, I'm hoping to do some gardening today as it's supposed to rain tomorrow. I have plants that need to go in the ground. But, first I need to make breakfast which will be a quiche from Linda's web site. So...thanks for letting me "whine" a little, and I'll probably post some later. Have a lovely day all! Suzanne

| Nyna I hope you are feeling better - nothing worse than not feeling well and having people in. Sally, do you have a bed and breakfast type of place or what? Fancy, it sounds like you are busy with "babies" --- we have a 1 year old who is too smart for her britches also - she has learned to push the buttons on the remote control for the ceiling fan in the living room to turn it on.....I have to watch her every minute of the day!! She also plays and loves to fetch all day....she wears us all out! I want to thank you each for coming and chatting -- it's nice to have a place to go and say hi!! I finally managed to get on the bike last night -- usually I'm on it and done by 2:00 p.m. but we had running to do yesterday and didn't get home until almost 4:00 p.m. This morning I made sure to get on and get my riding in by noon -- so I was done by 2:00 p.m. I've knocked a few minutes off the ride this week -- it use to take 2 hours 15 or 20 minutes (depending on how many 1 minute rests I took....today I am proud to say it took 2 hours 8 minutes! Not as many rests and a faster pace of music today. I was watching/listening to The Eagles Farewell Tour 1. Yesterday was #1 Disco Hits....that's always fun! I have no plans to increase my miles -- 25 miles a day is about all my rearend will allow! After dinner I plan to do a new exercise video -- Crunchless Abs. I've been doing HipHop Abs...which is something for someone who doesn't care for "hip hop"...LOL!!! But i do get a good workout with the guy and am sweating up a storm when I'm done. We are having NY Strip Steaks on the grill for dinner -- I made deviled eggs last night and have eaten a couple already today - still can't believe we are so fortunate to be able to eat this way. I go Monday morning for blood work -- hope it shows something good because this is the first blood work since I started Atkins in January!! I'm running 2 blocks from the hospital while mom is having her eye surgery done. She won't miss me while I'm gone...LOL!! Hope everyone is having a great weekend.

| 53 1/2 here !!! Hi everyone! Hope you're enjoying the weekend! I AM ! Started off early this morning running 14 miles on our local paved trail. It was a hot and dastardly humid central FL morning, but I prevailed! I think I sweat off a ton today! Took my water and my electromix powder and its a good thing. I'd never have made it without the electrolyte replacement! DH DD and I went out for steak afterwards. Yumbo. I had a filet, creamed spinach and a salad and it was wonderful. Not much planned for the rest of today; I think I've earned a rest ! Hope you're all staying on plan and enjoying life! Betty

| 52yrs here ... birthday next month. Man I wish I could run. I have a very heavy step when I walk .. so when I try to run I feel the pounding all the up my body. My kids are great runners. I don't know what happened with me. Is there a secret I'm missing? So I walk real fast, that's my new exercise this month ... and biking. I'm so out of shape from recuperating for over a year. But even after just the first week at it I'm feeling better .... more alive. I'm doing interval training .. but instead of jogging I change the pace of my walking. Maybe someday I'll figure out the running thing.

Morning everyone! I feel great today! It's raining out but I got some of my garden put in yesterday so it's ok if it rains. My cucumbers that I started inside can finally spread out instead of climbing up the patio door screen after running in circles after his "cousin" all day. I don't know if I'll even walk him today, maybe just a stroll. I can use the treadmill instead. The topic above was running/walking. When I was younger, I ran. Now I'm trying to do a combination of race walking/fast walking (I love race walking) or of jog/walk. I've just begun this outside, so I am really being cautious. I use the hydro poles as marks, doing the fast pace for 1 pole distance, and the slow pace for a 2 pole distances. I'm going to do that for June, then see how the breathing and heart rate do, and maybe for July, I'll alternate 1 pole distance for each pace. Does that make sense? I have to watch my knee, having injured it trying this last year at too fast a pace. I tend to jump into whatever with both feet, then pay for it abruptly, not being 25 or 30 years old anymore, lol. I also found out that I can't take the dog when I do this, as I literally have to pull him along behind me, not fair to him. But that's ok, I take my Ipod for companyI think today is a wonderful day to get my ironing done. I've kind of let it pile up Suzanne

| Hi all! I still have laryngitis and low energy so I took rest days for Friday and Saturday in the 6WEC. I already had my 4 pledged days done. I also have a knee problem so I usually stick to the elliptical machine although I'm slowly trying to get back to the treadmill. I've gone hiking several times in the last 2 weeks but I don't want to overdo it. Sally, no we don't rent rooms or anything like that. We have a pick-your-own blueberry farm that's open to the public from mid July until the berries are gone. The property is very pretty and peaceful. The garden clubs come to see the landscaping and lily ponds and the hunters come to see dh's trohpy room but they only stay a few hours at most so it's no big deal. Where are you located in Italy? I was there in '01 so maybe we crossed paths (doubtful though). Well, dh and I are going motorcycle riding so have a nice day everyone! |
