Unhappy Sugar really IS evil!!!!

Hi Family,

Over the holidays, I allowed myself to partake of SMALL amounts of desserts. I did not gain weight.

However, after of few weeks of letting myself partake of more sugar laden foods, I've gained 4 lbs! I did not realize how quickly (and STRONGLY) my body started to crave that poison! I had even increased my activity level during this time and STILL gained the 4 lbs! These foods did not even taste that good, but my body wanted it. I was feigning!!!

I have gone off the sugar cold turkey and don't feel as crazy-out-of-control when I'm around sweets. I have gone back to not allowing sugary foods that I know I crave in my house. I can't even have cereal or bananas at home at this point.

I know 4 lbs sounds like a small amount, but as we all know, 4 lbs can be just a pit stop on the way to 104 lbs. I am 5'2" so this gain is noticable. When I got on that scale, I could not believe my eyes! I wanted to slink into the corner of the bathroom and cry.

I have kept the weight off for almost 2 years and this experience is terrifying for me. I keep thinking, what if I can't get rid of the 4 lbs and just continue to gain regardless of what I do ...
