Re: hello | | Hi Trevor. Jill is right, you can do this. If you haven't read the book, Dr. Atkins New Diet Revolution, edition 2002...then I totally recommend you do. It will give you motivation and help you form a plan to make your goals. You don't have to give up the burgers...just re-invent them the low-carb way. I use lettuce wraps instead of bread. Using lots of spices helps to keep your food exciting and tastey as you learn to change the habits that make you gain weight. (Check out the substitution forum for finding ways to continue eating the meals you love ... but without the high carbs)
Make a plan. Figure out what foods you crave and whats going on in your life when you are tempted to eat them. Then, devise a plan for what you'll do either by changing the way you prepare them or finding alternative things to do other than eat. If you are eating between meals then it could be thirst instead of hunger. Exercise and drinking water helps to keep you focused on your weight and not on feeding emotions you are feeling.
