Re: Normal levels thx to Atkins | | Congratulations, Salima!!!! Absolutely FANTASTIC!
I can relate having been diagnosed with Diabetes, June of 2007, thanks to Creek (another Atkineer)! My doctor stated that I was not diabetic, but if I continued with my weight program (WW) and exercise, should not have a problem. My glucose was 140 at the time. To shorten this story, with the symtoms I was having, Creek swore up and down that I was diabetic. She asked if I join Atkins and try having a low carb program. Since at the time I was under the misconception that Atkins was just cream, fat, steak and eggs.. I doubted but left my mind open (not this site). I went to a new doctor to find out that my A1C was 13!!!! Creek was absolutely RIGHT! I was diabetic! After tests upon tests to ensure that I was fine (walking around with it for at least 3 years).. results were strongly suggested to have gastric bypass surgery.. Needless to say, NOT. Creek found this forum and I committed myself along with herself to be an Atkineer. My glucose has finally stabilized! (266 to 112) Thanks to the support, knowledge, caring of this group and a great program, am on the way to being a healthier person!
I congratulate you! and am most pleased to read another person's experience of having A1C improvements!
