Re: When Chicken isn't just chicken | | I know the feeling. Turkey breast was really high here for quite a while, so when Kroger had frozen turkey breast for 99 cent a pound, I bought three--never thinking I needed to check the ingredients. I immediately thawed one and noticed that it had 15% solution instead of the usual 12%. Sugar was the first ingredient, in front of water! Who wants sugar in their meat? At one time, Wal-Mart's ground meat, including ground sirloin, had been injected with a 12% mystery "all natural" solution. I so wish I could live on a farm again and raise all my food. I grew up on a farm with a mother that was way ahead of her time when it came to raising food that went into our mouth. |
