Re: I love my Mom, but........ | | i've been through the same thing with my mom. this is the 4th time i've re-started atkins(and the last time). the last time i was on this woe, she started coming around, learning things i could eat. making thing for sunday dinners that i could eat. she would make a meatloaf with nothing but eggs as the binder and big cookers full of green beans. she still offers me things i can't have, but i've learned to just say "i can't eat that" or "it'll be a while before i can have that". she's always asking me if i can have this or that, and when i tell her that i can have something, she always says that she will make it the next time she has DH and i over for dinner. it's just may take some time for your mom to understand exactly how things work on this woe. keep on feeding her info on the workings of this diet.
even a better idea, how about going to linda's low carb recipe's site, printing out a bunch of recipes and asking her to make something for you from them instead of the sugary carby cakes, pies, or cookies. then she would atleast have an idea of the things you can eat. |
