Sally is right. If you have lost weight rapidly, then your body may be reacting to the shock. Your hair should come back in three months or so. Hormone imbalances in perimenopause or menopause can also cause dramatic hair loss.
It can also be caused by vitamin deficiency. Biotin is a B vitamin that is known to stimulate hair and nail growth. Vitamin A is also an important vitamin for hair and Vitamin C is important to the collagen that keeps the hair strong. Check your menus on Fitday to see if you are getting enough of these. The biotin is something I supplement with daily.
Most unusual hair loss will resolve itself. It just takes awhile.
I read somewhere that high salt and sodium in the diet can also have a bad effect but I can't remember where I saw this. If you eat a lot of sodium you may want to try to cut back.
Don't know if any of this is of help, but maybe it is a place to start.
