Default Re: Buddy List July 28 - Aug 3

Sassy...no apology nessecary. This is what is great about this list. The give and take. All my advice and opinions is just that...advice and opinions. People can take it or not. It is just other stuff to think about. In the end we all need to find our own way with this WOE. Whether it is me having some of DS's birthday cake and eating higher up the rungs during cousin week...Val's BF and his bun...Joe and his nuts, gum and no exercise during induction..we are all finding a way to make this work for us. My opinions and advice are based on my personal experience and from reading lots of posts here.

Dr Atkins does not mention Sugar twin by name. But he does mention that he prefers Splenda and mentions Stevia. I recommend induction done with out any artificial sweetners. To better gauge your body when you add it back in. Some of us...Joe and myself for instance...can use artificial sweetners with no apparent side effects. Others...like Val...have found that it can cause them to stall. I have Stevia in liquid form. I think it cost me $10 for a small bottle. I use one eye drop in my coffee..that is all that is needed. I also use Splenda. And right now I am sometimes using Sugar twin only because I accidently thought it was packages of Splenda...they are both yellow and it was on the shelf right under the boxes of splenda...it was expensive and I can't justify not using it. I mix it with the Splenda because I don't like the taste of it. I don't know how much you use but if your body is sensitive to it it may contribute to your migraines. I would recommend you trying the Stevia as that is a more natural replacement than the Splenda. Stevia has a slightly licorice taste to it but it is not unpleasant.

I hear you on the clothes...it would be fine if they would size them all the same...but NOOOO! With the sunburn I couldn't try anything on. I just bought what I thought would fit and if it was too small then it is going to fit soon enough anyway.

Bill...will look through my files today for Cori.

f4n...thanks for checking in!!!

Monie...it's a different kind of quiet isn't it?? I am moving up to the nut rung myself. But since they are not something I am going to eat on a regular basis I am only staying for a week. Want to add peanut butter because it is in some recipes. And the only other time I would eat them is as a back up snack in the car for when I am driving the kids around and getting hungry.

You may encounter many defeats, but you must not be defeated. In fact, it may be necessary to encounter the defeats, so you can know who you are, what you can rise from, how you can still come out of it. ~Maya Angelo~
