I doubt that age is the primary factor. Fat and muscle ratios must be much more telling.

I could, at the same weight, be much trimmer if fitter and bearing more developed and toned muscle.

Now, with ageing comes muscle loss. Without hard work to maintain that toned muscle the flab of later years appears.

How you can look trimmer at a higher weight and age, I don't know.
