Re: AHH! now type II How fast can Atkins work | | Hello, When I began Atkins just over four years ago, I was Type-2 Diabetic. 48 days into Atkins and on Extended Induction my Type-2 Diabetes disappeared never to return again. Also I chose my veggies lowest on the GI (Glycemic Index). Dr. Atkins explains it on page78-84, 92 DANDR. He describes it as "A beautiful tool". It sure helped reverse my Type-2 Diabetes and accelerated my weightloss. I lost my first 100 pounds in ten months. Also there are supplements that I took then that helped with normalizing glucose levels. Chromium Pic, Alpha-Lopic Acid, Cinnamon (500 mg), Noni Juice(normalizes Glucose levels), Pro-Biotics (for yeast) and Olive Leaf Extract (anti-fungul) Another site to find foods lower on the GI and GL (glycemic load) can be found- Table 1. Glycemic Load Values For All Food Types Glycemic Load of Carb Foods - GI in Food Serving Keep to a strict Induction. And move onto Extended Induction. Keep a close eye on your Glucose numbers, check them often. You will notice them come down gradually. Make sure to keep a record of your glucose levels each day. That's what I did. Only I was on two types of medication and gradually had to reduce the dose untill I had to stop taking them completely. Atkins is a really healing WOE. I contimplated Bypass surgery or the band surgery. I'm glad I tried Atkins first. It helped me lose 145 pounds and keep it off. It reversed my Type-2 Diabetes, Stablized my high blood pressure and brought my blood chemistry to all healthy levels. Work the plan 100% and you'll get 100% results. Wishing you the best of health and lite. Sincerely, Sherri |
