OMG, Rich, what a great post. I cried reading it.
I'm here .. and I've been walking almost 7 days a week (foot willing...) I've walked over 2 miles (relatively a fast pace, considering....) for the past 4 days in a row ...
My foot ...

It hates being PUSHED and trust me, I PUSH IT .. I've gotten to the AGGRAVATED point with it .... so tired of the pre-surgery pain and even more tired of the post-surgical rehabilitation pain .. which of course the doctor assures me WILL PASS .. (WHEN????) I *am* gaining some dorsiflexion in the toe, but its SLOW going...and of course I am NOT a patient patient....
Right now, I can walk approx 2.6 miles in about 50 minutes .. horrendously and embarrassingly SLOW, but what can I do?
All I can say is, TRUE marathon training starts October 26 and this foot HAS to be ready.
7 marathons .. I am IN TOTAL AWE OF YOU, MY FRIEND!!!
I hope I can be like you when I grow up.
