Re: Confused about DANDR and Net Carbs | | In his original book (Dr Atkins Diet Revolution aka DADR) in the 70's he worked with total carbs including fibre, but in the years between this book and Dr Atkins New Diet Revolution aka DANDR he changed his thinking.
Dr Atkins talked in DANDR about the 'carbs that count' and told us to deduct fibre from any carbs listed for foods we eat, so we work with 'net carbs'.
As for counting cheese as being one carb per ounce on induction, I think he realised that is is easy to eat shedloads of cheese if you love it (as I do) and wanted to restrict us as cheese often can be a 'staller' for people, hence the 3-4 ounce limit.
