Re: why no nuts? | | Nuts are relatively high in carbs. Maybe a tiny portion, 10 almonds might have 2 net carbs but certainly not a cup. Also nuts are a food which frequently cause food senisitivities or carb cravings. That is why you are not to allow nuts back into your diet until much further down the road than induction. It is best to follow this diet by the book. Dr. Atkins worked with thousands of patients and this is the way his diet worked the best. I usually advise reading the book before you begin, but it is never too late!
