Starting January 1st, 2009, I’ve officially started on the Atkin’s road.

My entire life my weight would range from 125-135, and I was quite happy there. About 3 years ago, my father passed away and it turned my world upside down. 130 turned into 170 turned into 220, turned into 235….

I put on a hundred pounds in the span of 3 years. I didn’t even realize that was POSSIBLE, let alone that I would be the over-achiever to do it =\ I barely left my home, barely left my bed, I was just in the midst of a black hole of depression.

After 3 years, and tons of dealing with my depression, I’m FINALLY climbing out, and a big part of that is letting go of the excess weight. I just don’t feel emotionally heavy anymore, and I would love it if my outside could reflect how I feel on the inside =)

I just bought the book, but since Jan 1st, have lost 3 lbs on induction and it’s only been 4 days (yaha)… The flu-like symptoms are gone, and today is the first day that I feel like I could climb a mountain.

I’ve been reading through this site, and everyone seems so helpful & supportive! I have high hopes & an inordinate amount of determination, and I really look forward to going through this with all of you!

PS. another huge factor, i'm getting married this year, and it would be really really nice to feel & look back to normal!!
