| I voted for the 1st two. I really didn't believe I could lose weight because I wasn't torturing myself with bland non-filling food. I also couldn't believe I was allowed as much food as I was! I thought for sure the only way to lose weight was to be hungry all the time and eat very little. I'm so glad I was wrong!

| The thing that surprised me most was how easy it was to lose the weight. I still can't believe the delicious foods I can eat and stay thin. I've never felt better in my life. Betty

| There is no way a few years ago you could have EVER talked me into the Atkins Diet or woe or whatever you want to call it! ...however when I I started creeping up in weight it was getting to be miserable and I had to do something..so my friend who had lost like 50lbs and looked wonderful bragged it up enough to get me to try it....I never at the 3 cups of veggies in induction I confess ...more like 6 cups! But the rest I did by the book so to speak and here I am ...5 months at or below goal ...and feeling very healthy ..so the idea this is unhealthy is all in how you go about it....if you do it right it is very healthy ..especially compared to what most folks in the US eat as it is!!!...I think it is to my advantage I love to cook because I have followed the seasons in my eating as well and what could be healtier than that...now if I could just find a way to curb the cake on Sundays I would be a great role model! |

| Well, I voted for the first two. I used to starve myself to lose weight. Now I eat until satisfied... yummy foods! I am a slow loser however.... due to too many starvation diets I guess....my metabolism is ruined! I am currently stalled... since May... but it happens all the time... stall then small loss... stall then small loss...

| The most surprising and most gratifying aspect of this WOE is that I'm still on it almost two years since beginning. I never dreamed I could stick with anything this long. It's really been easy. I'm fortunate that my mindset has allowed me to NEVER fall off the wagon. I haven't lost weight in a year. I've narrowed it down to the fact that I still like to eat too much, but WHAT I'm eating has changed drastically. I'll never go back to my old ways. This feels too good. Food no longer controls me. I don't feel crazy anymore. |

| What has surprised me the most is how DEAD WRONG the media is. I unfortunately believed the media for far too long. Then, I got both curious and desperate and actually READ the book. All the media hype is "meat, eggs and cheese" and they never ever mention all the veggies that are important to get in, or the exercise that is non-negotiable. People kept telling me, "it can't be healthy to eat that way." How can it NOT be healthy to get in your veggies EVERY DAY; drink your water daily; eat until satisfied, not stuffed; eat whole foods, not processed. I've only REALLY been following the ANA for about 8 weeks, but I'm already convinced this is the best WOE and WOL ever. I know I sound like a commercial, but this was a great poll! I only picked the last two because they were the biggest surprises, but honestly I was surprised about ALL of them!! Punkin-kid

| Well, I would say what didn't surprise me is the media concept. When have they ever done indepth research on important issues - most people only want "fluff" and a quick synopsis of things - so the "researchers" only read one or two chapters and think they have a handle on the entire concept - and report that. What did surprise me was: - how much weight I really had to lose - how fast it came off - how hungry I wasn't - the incredible selection of foods from which to choose
