Have you ever tried online dating? What is your opinion about it?

only a handfull of people know this,but me and my current gf met on friggen myspace.it went from simple conversations to really getting to know each other talking on the phone all the time,,wich ran up a couple big phon bills seeing how she lived in california and i lived in louisiana,,well one thing led to another she came down for a visit and all the time spent on the phone talking we all ready knew what each other expected in a mate..and well we just clicked,,,,3 weeks later i flew to california we packed up all her stuff and she moved to louisiana,,,it will be a year august 25 that weve been living together,,,and we are getting things in order to get married..so haha even tho i still think its weird and embarassing how we met,it is working out better then i could have ever dreamed.

I think it is dangerous if you aren't careful you could be stalked or tricked into harm's way by a dangerous person giving false info on the net or luring personal info from you


It is not for me but others may find use with it - I tried it for a few months, but the 2 dates I had were not satisfactory, there was unpleasant stuff about them the dates had not mentioned, and their pictures were better looking


I might consider it but am weary (wary) I may try it again if I have no luck dating when I want to start a relationship, but I'll be aware of the potential drawbacks


I think it is a good idea and may be a good way to meet others in a short time you can isolate a set of potential matches, and eliminate a lot of footwork required to find a good candidate the old fashioned way

ive met a few people off line.and its just like meeting people out in public,except youve had time to talk to the other person and get to know them a little bit to see if yall even have the same intrest,,,,,no where people mess up is they build this person up in their mind and start to have what i call yahoo love,,,because its easy to be honest and say all the right things when you dont have to look at someone,,,,,but the fact is the chemistry has to be there when your face to face...so as long as you dont think youll fall in love like the movie you got mail youl be all right...

and as far as a person stalking you from the computer,,,there are just as many hustlers in bar rooms and churches,,,a hustler ,stalker is a hustler or a stalker with or without a computer.

now i think its cheesey how me and my gf met,,,but at the same time i feel lucky because i would have never even thought about meeting her,,with her in cali and me way down south....and i hate to say it but i think it was kinda good being that far apart because we didnt rush into sex,and the phyiscal things didnt get in the way,,,we connected just talking and still today we talk about everything,,,she was a friend till she came down an we met face to face and decided we couldnt be apart.now shes my friend and my lover and there is nothing i can see me doing that i dont want her apart of.

ha, i met my husband in yahoo chat. we've been married 5 years. still, only a select few know how we met. we just say we met at a party which in a way is true. he and his friends came over and we partied. it's just when everyone else left he chose to stay. 2 months later we were engaged. sometime that month i got pregnant but didn't find out until a little over a month later. everyone said it wouldn't last. ****, i would've even said that if someone told me a story like that but we are fine and still love eachother very much.

Chris and I met online (MySpace) and we've been together nearly a year now.... It's been nothing but wonderful. I've met several of my past "others" online as well, including my ex husband who I met through yahoo personals. Yes I've had only TWO bad experiences... but 95% of them have been absolutely wonderful.

i never really used a personal with any success..i met ppl like you would anywhere else..online surfing sights,,,myspace,just falling into a conversation,but i dont know if a low carb personal would work with any great success...but hey you nev er know what will take off on this www. world..look at myspace,and youtube.com who would have ever thought that would happen

I said it's great, but I'm married and have no intentions of looking right now. I have two very close friends who found their mates online and it has worked wonderfully for them. You are really able to weed out many guys in a way that you can't when you meet someone face to face.
